An Adorable Classic, Reinvented
The renowned dollmaker Madame Alexander based this 18-inch cloth doll on the original Strawberry Shortcake character, who first appeared in the 1980s. Since then, Strawberry Shortcake has reappeared in updated iterations, but this Madame Alexander doll retains the original pink, strawberry-topped hat, the red dress with its white apron, and most notably, the signature green-and-white striped tights.
Strawberry Shortcake's classic looks will score some nostalgia points with today's generation of moms, but it's the ragdoll design that makes this Madame Alexander version a timeless doll. This simple Strawberry Shortcake doll offers a well-crafted, heirloom-quality alternative to today's plastic, battery-powered toys, with her embroidered features, yarn hair, soft body, and authentic clothing. The doll also scored points for her removable dress and removable white knickers, although the hat, tights, and shoes are not removable.

Renowned dollmaker Madame Alexander based this 18-inch cloth doll on the original Strawberry Shortcake character.

A hat for our friends' daughter, Baby Mia - they live up north where it's very cold! I did the hat using a simple baby hat pattern (modified to work in the round) from a Debbie Bliss book and my mother-in-law did the embroidery!

For AngBob's soon to be born baby, Kyra, I knitted a fairy doll, infant hat, and booties.

For you crafty folks, I used the Umbilical Cord hat, One-Hour Baby Booties, and altered the Bubby bear pattern for the fairy doll.
